Winners of PMI UK’s inaugural 2019 National Project Awards have been announced at a glittering ceremony at the Honourable Artillery Company in London.
Launched by the UK chapter of PMI (Project Management Institute) in celebration of the global organisation’s 50th anniversary, the awards, sponsored by PwC, recognised the achievements of professional project, portfolio and programme managers and their teams.
Eleven winners were chosen from 41 finalists by a judging panel of industry experts and PMI representatives, with an independent oversight’ of the judging process provided by Pinsent Masons. Each winner was noted as showcasing superior performance through the application of project management, superior organisational results and/or positive impacts on the community or organisation.
Chris Field, Chair of PMI UK, comments: “We had a great response to this our first ever awards, with the evening hailed a huge success by everyone that attended. It was also a great way to mark our organisation’s milestone 50th anniversary. The quality of entries received was outstanding and choosing a winner for each category was not an easy task for our judges, so well done also to each of the finalists.”
Hosted by Toastmaster Tim Podesta, the ceremony also included a presentation from Comedic Keynote Speaker and PMO Expert Peter Taylor, a live performance from contemporary folk band Ranagri and entertainment from Magician Wayne Trice.
