Heathrow Airport was presented with the Technology of the Year Award for its Airport Operations Plan (AOP), and Demand Capacity and Balancing (DCB) tool – a paradigm shift in the way flight operations are handled. Heathrow’s ambition is to provide the “Best Airport Service in the World”. To deliver this under severe capacity constraints, it is combining data science, design thinking and business process re-design with digital technologies to unite the physical and virtual aspects of its services.
